Amos, EOA last class, lunches and Clementi

It was again a day of mutiple events, had my last EOA class today and again I felt kinda sad to see all my classmates for the last session, knowing we will part from now. After that, some of us have lunch at Swesens JP and then I send DEB home to Clementi. After that decide to take a walk around Clementi, after all I have been to that place all my life but have never drove there before. It felt kinda strange to walk from the car park to the town rather than from the bus stop or the train station. Kinda makes me feel very "adult" :P Walk past many childhood hangout places, the coffeeshops, the old second bookshop where I used to spend hours there reading and GD's old barber.Didnt spent a long time there but it sure makes me feel very nostalogic. Meet Amos for coffee in the night, havent seen him in a long while. He was alot thinner than before, but ever as sharp and busy. His words made sense before, now his words are still as good. He ask me when I would attend church and my answer was that I still needed time. Guess I am still sore at .... Lost my faith and trust so will take me a long time to rebuild that.

The Walk

The rain has just stopped, walking alone along that small forest path. I hear the crunch of the gravel under my shoes. The birds chirp, the leaves rustle and fall gently off the trees. The smell of the crisp morning air mixed with the smell of fallen rain was everywhere. A drone suddenly sounded in the clouds above. I looked up and saw the tiny aeroplane fliting in the sky above. The colours and markings were that of my training aircraft. Up there, my instructor and another student were doing stalls. It has been a while since I dance in the clouds. I thought back all the events that followed since my last flight. It has been an eventful four weeks, in fact much more than I can handle. There has been three times I have looked up at a plane and felt inspired like this.

Once wlll be during my childhood when I was on a bicycle under around my home, saw a squadron of F5s sweeping across the sun, it was a beautiful sunset and at that moment I knew that I always wanted to fly.

The second time would be when I was piloting my training aircraft in an early morning, and I saw one once again a lone F5 danced alone in the morning sun against the clear blue sky. That time I was not looking up at the jet, we were on equal altitude. That moment onwards, I have attained my childhood dream.

After being grounded for a month now, once again I look up at the sky and this time it was seeing my own aeroplane flying over head. I knew I wanted to get back there, once I get my health back in order. It can be stressful, sweaty, and scary at times. But the beauty of it all, the feeling of floating above the clouds, looking down on everything that I knew and the thrill of blasting out of the runway in a 20 yr old aircraft at speeds which Ah bengs can only dream about in their heavily modified Evos and WRXes. For all that and much more, Flying will always be in my blood, and in my heart...

Farewell to Geo class, clipped wings and tea at the airfield

A long day has passed. As I sat here writing about my day, I thought back on the events that has passed by in the past months in NIE. I sorta attended a farewell party for Geo class today, it feel really sad that the familar faces that I have seen for the past eight months will all now go their separate ways. Had dinner with YL later at holland V and met up with LN there. Then we went back to my place to collect the van. Though was supposed to meet up with PH and AM at zouk. We chose not to go as LN had some matters to settle, and we drove down to the airfield and met up with JS to have coffee. It has been 4 weeks since I last flown, had to cancel my flight designated for yestrerday morning due to my super persistent cough...it came back again. It feels terrible to be grounded for so long. At the prata joint near the airfield, CL, LN, JS and I had a really good chat. JS and I of course started with aviation talk, before the other two bankers got really confused.JS also passed me some notes which was really a treasure. After that it was a really heart to heart talk about many issues, be it career, familly etc. It has been a long while since the 4 of us got together. It seems we have all grown older a little..It is really strange to know that we have come such a long way from the days when we were all students. Now we all hold different postions in life, banker, banker, teacher/pilot, pilot. But one thing remained the same, we all are still swinging bachelors and faced the same dilenmma that is to love and be loved.
Talking and listening in that lazy restaurant by the airfield, time went by quicky and soon it was 3am. We made my way home....

Then Dad called and got to cut the lunch short to pick him up. Again a long distance travel to VICOM for vehicle inspection and road tax payment.Heart pain..AJ flew back from HK and ask for dinner. Of V day, Treks, Airport Coffee and The Great Drive

Started my day by being late for my trek with AJ and Co, I mixed up the meeting timing and was late for half and hour. Really apologetic for that. It was a refreshing walk that went from MacRitchie reservoir to bukit timah.Very scenic and the fresh air really help stop my coughing. Had lunch at Bt timah and then home to crash on my pad.Slept for two hours and then started walking around my home half dazed. My buddy WH ask me to join him and his gf VIV for dinner. While apprehensive at first of becoming a spot light. They insist that I come down. It was very sweet of them, cause I know that they just do not want me to spend this saturday alone. Drove down, saw many couples with flowers and gifts along the way, thought about some stuff. Not worth mentioning my mood though. Upon meeting them, we had dinner at AV market which is near IKEA, then went shopping for a new pair soccer boots for WH. Then it was to IKEA where VIV got some stuff for her room. Wanting to get a cuppa, we drove down to East Coast and found it jammed pack with cars.Having no choice, we headed down to the airport, and had coffee at the T2 coffee bean. Stayed and chatted for a long while there before the GREAT DRIVE!!! ECP, TPE.PIE.CTE,AYE, used all those highways on my way back cos wanted to send them both home. I turned off the van's ignition at around 230am. Long drive but felt more healthy today, the cough have stopped. Really appreciate the couple's company tonight, didnt felt like like a spot light after all. They made me feel really comfortable. My buddy WH is a very fortunate man for he have a really wonderful gf, he have come a long way from those single and pathetic days in the army.:P

Day of Abstainance

Yesterday met up with WQ and KT on the way to school and ended up having lunch together. After the lesson for the day, I went back home to collect my van and started down to Queenstown to see my family doctor. He told me I really need to get more rest for the cough to recover. That means not to stay up so late. But I am still doing it...sigh. Anyway, met up with GL and had dinner with her at ABC market. And we spent much time trying not to get tempted by the good food all around. Feel really terrible when you are in a market that serves great food, and I had to abstain from so much food. No chicken, no prawn, no fried stuff, no stir fried stuff, no chili...the list goes on. Had a long chat with her before zooming back to CCK to CK and Co for a little while. But I was getting really tired so decided to go off soon after.Situation awareness was low yesterday so I didn't dare to send anyone home except for WQ who lives nearby.

Of Solo Flight, French Accent, Teva sandals, Walks in the night

JS had his first solo flight today!! Really glad he has finally found his wings again.Watched Along Came Polly yesterday with KT,WQ and YL. Always like comedy romances with happy endings. The show was hilarious but also a little disgusting at times, haha. Reminds me of the old Stephen Chow movies which I love watching. KT and WQ cant stand it when I kept speaking with a French accent after the movie.Bought my first Teva sandals, really cost me a bomb...really hope it will last. The evening came, and things went alittle grey. Met up with LN for coffee in the night, and we started walking around the entire bukit gombak, batok area till almost 2am. Jus walking, talking and listening, we both have our share of problems this year.Reminded me of the times when we used to hang out in the area when we were studying and had little income. Named him a "Bastard with a conscience",haha.(he should know the reason himself):P Things are looking up for him and really hope the best for him.

Blurry day gone by...

Went for LK and KS birthday celebration at Jurong point today. Had the "forbidden" swensen ice cream much to to the detriment of my own health. It was good fun though, havent really hang out with DB and Co crowd all this while. They are really quite noisy people. Went home after that, took my medicine and crashed...for a good two hours. Really drowsy medicine then. Couldnt do much after that after that as light was falling and couldn;t concentrate on getting any work done. Met up with JW and GL later in the night. Drove very very carefully down to ABC market. Haha got a little embarrased when GL exclaimed loudly when she saw prawns in my fishball soup. I wasn't suppose to have prawns now due to my persistent cough. The uncle got a bit frightened and changed the prawns to fishballs. Ok, ok I must watch what I eat now. :P Must get rid of this condition, got to postpone my flight tomorrow. Grounded for another week Sigh...

Cough Wheeze Sneeze...

Long while since I put in any new entry...went to ITE Bishan for a field trip, was an eye opener though. The students are really well behaved. Now I know what has happened to all my sec 4NT students since they are now all in ITE. They are jus so different now,was coughing and sneezing all morning, got really worried. Will have to postpone my flight on thursday if I go on like this. So no choice for me today , got to give Brother Gooi's birthday dinner at cityhall a miss. KT too was having a fever and trouble with her stomach, she was in a real bad shape. We kept tag on each other by messaging each other. Read alot of aviation stuff and today, and did stalls on my simulator, got a bit confused with the recovery procedures. Went for a short drive to the bank jus now, and now is back at home, very rare for me to be home so early though:P

Brought ck and company for dinner at farmart, one of my favourite haunts cos one can watch the sunset from there and the food is reallly fresh and good. It is situated on top on of a hill at Tengah and surrounded by open farmlands. A rare scene in Singapore I must say. They were all worried I brought them out to sell...when they realise it is right smack in the countryside in urban Singapore.LOL..too bad didn't manage catch the sunset today as we went there rather late. With Brother Gooi doing most of the ordering, we managed to try out some new dishes. They were delicious....will order them in the future. After that it was badminton session for them, and later also for me. I didnt expect to play tonight so was dressed in jeans and leather shoes. But I played nevertheless, in that kind of gear. Apparently Brother Gooi was part of the Malaysian badminton national league before, his strokes were really pro.....and he taught us some really good techiques. I partnered with him and won two matches against CK and YL and it was all on professional rules. HAHA..Never knew there were so many rules in badminton. And Finally after so many years, I can SMACK!!!

A excerpt from a horoscope from WH.
Cancer?Yep thats me.Can find some of my traits in there.

Cancer in Love
> June 22-July 22
>
> Cancer is the cardinal water sign indicating that strong and rushing feelings and emotions guide their actions. When they love they love forever...period. Their extremely tough outer shell makes it hard to truly get into their heart but once in the loved one becomes pampered, adored and prone to being the intense focus of their feelings and moods. A Cancer lover instinctively nourishes and dotes on the object of their heart
> and can be all encompassing in all ways.
>
> Being traditional and home oriented means male Cancers like to follow the proper rules and ways to court, to fall in love and to make it permanent. Likewise for females who tend to wait until the man makes his move regardless of how strongly they may want to make a move. No one can do love and give love like a Cancer can, but it is heart and maternally oriented as opposed to sexually oriented and its worse tendency is to be smothering.
>
> A Cancer who feels insecure in a relationship is apt to become demanding: her sulking silently hurt or verbally making it clear what is wrong and why. The outer shell protects them from giving too soon and too often but those outer claws (another Crab attribute) serve to hold onto a loved one with a tenacious grasp that is almost impossible to break. Yet their actions are always driven by the true depth of their feelings and the loved one almost always holds a cherished spot in their heart even long after the union is over. When it comes to protection...not even Leo can outdo the fierce and loyal strength that a Cancer wields in the name of protecting a loved one
>
> Cancer Sexuality
> Sex is not definable without emotions for most Cancers and they must feel something with relative strength for their truest feelings to come out in a romantic and sexual interlude. They are tender and partner oriented lovers and more concerned with pleasing their mates and feeling the returning emotions as nurturing proof of the partners love.
>
> Sex for cancer is attached to all things which mean security and loyalty and truth of the heart. Their needs tend to fluctuate according to their moods and emotional state as does their intensity and their desire levels. In many ways sexuality is an empowered field for Cancer as they are the zodiacs maternal nurturers it is the literal act of sex which has molded their 'job'. A cancer who is in love and feels secure will intuitively understand that and will treat it as the joyful gift it is.
>
> The Long Term Story
> In a solid, secure relationship a Cancer can easily support the nuances of a long term relationship as they naturally nourish and supplement the changing nature of the union.
>
> On a lovers part it is important to understand their emotional vulnerability and how they cope with that through their built in defense mechanisms.
>
> Cancers are, undeniably, prone to a certain moodiness and such is the way they can learn to bend and flow and give what is needed to nurture those around them. The more a partner learns to enhance a cancers ability to detach from what is going around them and to learn the truth of their own power of emotional freedom the less this natural moodiness will manifest in overt ways.
>
> Positive Traits in Love
> Loyal, supportive, nurturing, compassionate, caring, dedication, faithfulness of emotions, tenderness, pampering, and adoration.
>
> Negative Traits
> Possessiveness, jealousy, moodiness, volatility, control issues, dependency issues, depression
>
> What a Cancer Likes
> Feeling appreciated, Sincerity, Tradition, Stability, Routine, Loyalty, Commitment, Laughing, Feeling
>
> What a Cancer Dislikes
> Erratic ness, Sudden, unexpected changes, Insincerity, Being ignored, Dishonesty, Not knowing how you feel, Being uncomfortable
>
> Cancer Love Keywords
> Emotional, fluid, nurturing, supportive, moody, insecure, loving, loyal, tradition oriented, modest, generous, sincere.

Its another day gone by...as I sat listening to the song that you are hearing now. I began writing this entry. It was a day which began with me teaching my neighbour about the Russian revolution in her history class. My political science background came into play and I had a rather enjoyable time teaching and it kept my mind from wandering. The afternoon came and attempts to do my assignments failed. Fooling with the Internet for a while, i called my buddy WH and he always the willing buddy, asked me to join him and his gf VIV at bugis. I drove down and found them there, we chatted and went shopping. it has been a while since I last went shopping with a lady, and it sure brought back some memories. Two of them are really fine people, and they offered sound advice. Really appreciate their support today...
Had dinner with CL and gang later at Tiong Bahru for yusheng but wasn't really able to enjoy as much as I usually do. Anyway, tomorrow will be better, dun want to sound so down all the time, or people will stopped reading my blog.:P

Another Sat has gone by, again it was a crazy day of moving around all over Singapore. Went to Queenstown for breakfast of prawn noodles with my family early in morning then off to visit my uncle at Everton Park. Met JS at Chinatown for coffee and then went home for a rest...and after that the schedule fell apart. However, the key point for the late evening was picking up GL at boon lay station and driving her down to QR place at Hillvew where we had our CDAC gathering. Her legs were still injured and thus the exclusive charter:P We talk much during the drive and she ever so concerned, was glad of the changes in my life. However, as I was no mahjong player, the rest of the night was spent playing computer games on my phone at QR place.
